AHA represents its members at Industry and Government organisations.
Australian Industry Standards
Australian Industry Standards (AIS) is a government-funded, not-for-profit organisation working with industry leadership to ensure Training Packages are contemporary, future-focused and aligned with industry needs.
John Skinner is representing AHA on an AIS Technical Advisory Committee advising on the revision of Cert IV in Water Industry Operations. AHA will seek input from the ThinkTank and members regarding the content and value of the Cert IV.
John previously represented AHA on the revision of the Diploma and Cert III in Water Industry Operations.
Standards Australia is the country’s leading independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit standards organisation. They are also Australia’s representatives of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
Grant Robinson is representing AHA on Technical Committee CE024. Currently the committee is reviewing a large number of AS3778 standards which are “aged”.
Since 2014, the Bureau of Meteorology has convened the Water Monitoring Standards Technical Committee (WaMSTeC). Review and endorsement of standards and guidelines are the principle functions of WaMSTeC. Its membership comprises over 25 industry organisations that share an interest in advancing consistent water information standards at the national level.
