Infiltration is an important parameter in the hydrologic modelling necessary for the rehabilitation of the waste rock dump at the Ranger Uranium Mine. Microplots were established on the Cap site of the waste rock dump and the infiltration characteristics were studied under simulated rainfall. It was shown that infiltration rates are low and that most of the rainfall is removed from the Cap site of the waste rock dump as surface runoff.
