In response to the growing problems of salinity both within and outside irrigation areas in Victoria, the Rural Water Commission is participating along with other public and private sector bodies in a joint exercise to ultimately control and manage salinity in this State. The effects of salinity, the control management concepts and the involvement of hydrographers in developing an effective management strategy are discussed in relation to the Loddon-Avoca Salinity Region.
