AHA Services - 08 October, 2021

Measuring flow in open channels

Standards Australia Technical Committee CE-024 advises on standards relating to Measurement Of Water Flow In Open Channels and Closed Conduits.

AHA and a number of AHA members are part of this Technical Committee, which has overseen a review of the AS 3778 series of standards: Measurement of water flow in open channels, particularly those which are more than 10 years old.

Technical Committee CE-024 has agreed to

  1. identical adoption of updated ISO standards as part of AS 3778
  2. reconfirm 2 existing AS standards without change
  3. withdraw 2 AS standards as the source ISO document has been withdrawn and material is covered in other standards which are adopted

In some cases, where reviewers recommended adopting the ISO standard in full but making minor additions/modifications, to expedite the review / update process, the Committee accepted the ISO standard without change.

Standards that the review recommends should be replaced
